Ralph Baudach is a member of the newsreader team at Germany's longest running TV news broadcast tagesschau. He is also presenting news at tagesschau24, the 24 hours news streaming service of tagesschau.

Since early 2023 he was hosting the podcast West-östlicher Alman (West-Eastern Alman – “Alman“ meaning “German“ in Turkish). He and Saxonian priest Dr. Justus Geilhufe talked about peculiarities in society, culture and politics in West and East Germany – and anywhere in between. It's a form of dialogue that is very much needed, more than 30 years after German reunification.

For many years Ralph Baudach has been producing, directing and shooting features for Germany's longest running culture programme ttt – titel thesen temperamente and NDR Kulturjournal. During that time he interviewed many international musicians: Phil Collins, Ed Sheeran, Liam Gallagher, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Cecilia Bartoli and Anna Netrebko, amongst others.

Since 2011 he shot, edited and postproduced short features and longer documentaries for German-French culture TV station arte, NDR television and internationally renowned NDR Bigband.

For music labels Warner Classics and Sony he directed, shot and edited several music films, featuring cellist Gautier Capuçon and bass baritone Thomas Quasthoff, amongst others.

In 2015 he developed the TV music show Albums of the Year that he also presented on tagesschau24 until its end in 2022. He regularly invents and develops original TV and other formats. Recently he launched and fully self-produced Zeit und Raum (Time and Space). In that show Ralph Baudach conducts in-depth conversations about life and death with remarkable guests. These conversations take place in atmospheric locations that influenced his guests at a pivotal point in their life.

During Corona pandemic he developed and produced the live streaming programme Jam at Ten. Every Monday at ten p.m. he played live music in his studio and simultaneously streamed it to his audience via Instagram.

Together with his friends Niklas Liepe (violin) and Nils Liepe (piano) he invented the personality/live music show Spielt! (Play!). It encourages celebrities to find their way back to the first instrument they learned as a child or teenager – by rehearsing and finally presenting favourite songs live on that instrument. With production company Inventive Studios and supported by funds from the programme Neustart Kultur of Deutsche Musikrat they further developed the show and finally produced two pilot episodes in spring 2023.

He regularly presents events and panel discussions in the fields of culture, economics and politics. In 2021 he moderated a dialogue board for artists at the Federal Chancellery of Germany with former chancellor Angela Merkel.

He is an ambassador of the Erich Kästner Foundation with a mission to support children and teenagers with parents suffering from drug addiction, physical or mental illness.
